Why e-POD and settlement matter more than tracking
GPS tracking answers "where is the truck?" — useful, but the money questions are different: has it been delivered, is the POD in, and who gets paid what? e-POD closes the delivery loop with evidence, which shortens disputes and speeds invoice generation. Automated settlement then removes the month-end reconciliation that consumes accounts staff.
Transporters who digitise settlement also control cash leakage: every advance is tied to a trip, and every trip ends in a reconciled payout.
How to choose a TMS
If you run multiple branches, the deciding question is how well the system handles inter-branch transfers and branch-level reports.
Book an LR in demo, dispatch it, deliver it, invoice it, settle the driver. Any break in that chain will break in production too.
Booking clerks will use whatever is faster than a register. Ask how much typing a booking genuinely needs.
